“Drawing Bridges ”

Bridges are interesting as they create the span that one can actually travel across from one location to another, one land mass to the next. As they travel over water, many analogies can be made and aslo symbolic interpretations. These are my interpretations. I have focused on the Golden Gate Bridge for my first inspirations.

They are created using digital media. First a digital camera is used. Then I create variations on the effect in Photoshop using color modes and filters and layer effects and more. The effect I am after is the sense of an actual line drawing or animated color created from almost a Peter Max type ink creation. However, mine are created on the computer.

I form a relationship between the process of digital media and the final suite of pieces. Both translate the world. Both feel as if they translate the world in a mix, vary much like how we might feel one day to the next. These changes and translations are very much like what an actual bridge might do.
