KATHRYNARNOLD

8th Street Studio

My 8th Street Studio and its day to day, or maybe it will be week to week digression on my studio issues, art thoughts, and the duality experience between conceptual/rational and nonconceptual/intuitive. Grid and ground contained all within.

Studio Log

6-08-05 more and onto 6-10 - 05

Today, as promised, finally some images from the studio. This is 6' x 6'.

This image is the same piece; it may be a better image. The papers on the floor are for my installation in process. Pieces of paper with paper attached to them, in this case maps of LA. Interesting thing about these maps is at the galleries last week, one of the artists is using colors and lines from these types of maps, but doesn't seem like either he/she knew it or mentioned it in the statement. Gives a new avenue for color exploration fitting with my grids.

This is the installation in progress. The border at this time is still taped but soon will appear the silver lining.

And then another 5' x 5'

Now for some pieces in process from the studio. Please go to the next page for more...

This is an oil painting on paper, about 54" wide, maybe 36 " tall. It is still in process. It may end up going with the forest series I am working on.

This is the second work on paper I am still working on in my studio. Not quite as wide.
